We’re thrilled to share a student success story from Enliven Disability Community Services. Michael, who’s been with community services since it started, completed a remarkable piece of writing as part of our literacy programme.
Michael dedicated two hours a week over four weeks to create a factual written piece that he’s incredibly proud of. He collaborated with our team on the topic and did all the writing himself. Reflecting on his writing journey, Michael said he thought he’d done well to remember all the details, “I talked a lot about the changes over the years, staff working at the service, past and present, and the achievements and what I got out of it.”
In his work, Michael writes:
“Coming to Mosaic has been good for me. That is because I have learnt a lot and I have grown more confident. I have had several part time jobs, cleaning vehicles at Armourguard, packing pizzas and pizza bases into plastic bags at a bakery and cleaning dishes at the SPCA.
As a result of that I am making more of my own decisions and doing more for myself. I enjoy coming to a close knit community of friends all of whom I can get on well with. We are always able to have a pleasant conversation about any topic together and share the occasional joke with each other.”
Michael’s dedication and hard work are inspiring to us. We’re as proud of his achievements as he is and can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next. Well done, Michael!
