Arohiwi Station welcomes new Board Director

PSEC extends a warm welcome to Ross Shepherd who has joined the Arohiwi Station Board of Directors. With over 30 years of experience in Aotearoa New Zealand’s agriculture sector, Ross brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to the land and also its people. Ross is the head of Kowhai Ag Ltd and has spent decades managing some of our country’s largest farming operations and land development projects.

Ross’s expertise in strategic planning, contract management, and sustainable agribusiness makes him a perfect fit. Ross’s focus on empowering others, fostering collaboration, and his passion for the future of our primary sector ensures he will be a valuable addition to our Arohiwi Board of Directors.

Ross is driven to care for both the land and the people while moving forward together as he is guided by the principles of manaaki whenua, manaaki tangata, haere whakamua (care for the land, care for the people, go forward). We’re excited to see the positive impact he will bring to Arohiwi and the communities we serve together.

Ross lives in Taupō, where he, his wife, and their three children enjoy numerous sporting activities and outdoor pursuits.

Ross Shepherd leads Kowhai Ag Ltd, a dynamic company specialising in tailored agribusiness management and advisory. Kowhai Ag provides practical management and advisory to the wider farming sector including contract management, strategic planning, farm system (and land use) optimisation, succession planning, purchase due diligence, and leadership coaching. Kowhai Ag Ltd also specialises in providing tailored part-time general management solutions for Māori agribusinesses.
