A sparkling line-up of leading Hawke’s Bay chefs, are sharing their culinary skills and love for fine food to help Presbyterian Support East Coast’s (PSEC) vital child support service – Family Works.
For one night only they will work together out of a kitchen set under the stars at Trinity Hill Winery, preparing, cooking and serving the finest Hawke’s Bay food to 250 guests at Sparkle 2017.
Chefs Andrew Popperwell (Design Cuisine), David Griffiths (Mister D) Stephen Tindall (Te Awa Winery Restaurant), Paola Pancotti (Molto Italian Kitchen), Hayden Esau (Milk and Honey) and the Hapi Team lead by Gretta Carney are all donating their time to the event which they promise will be dinner guests will always remember.
Mr Griffiths, who has been part of Sparkle since it launched three years ago, said the team is proud to be involved in such a prestigious event on the Hawke’s Bay calendar.
“We fully support PSEC’s aim to create a unique event for a very good cause,” he said.
The money raised for Family Works will help fund social worker services in more of the region’s schools to meet increasing demand for children dealing and coping with family violence.
PSEC head of marketing Shirley Collins said Sparkle was thrilled to have a top line up of chefs working together who were all generously giving their time and expertise to the event.
“All the detail, including the exclusive menu, is kept under wraps to add to the mystery and glamour of Sparkle. We’ve been overwhelmed by the offers of support and tickets are selling out,” she said.
Sparkle’s success came from giving guests a Hawke’s Bay experience like no other along with adding an element of mystery surrounding all the finer details including the theme, entertainment and Master of Ceremonies.
The Sparkle event showcases over 100 businesses, mainly from Hawke’s Bay. This includes those who are donating their time, quality produce, and ingredients for the menu. The Sparkle menu will be matched with wines from Trinity Hill, Church Road Winery, Te Awa Collection, Sileni Estates, Supernatural Wine Co, Hawkes Ridge Wine Estate and Bilancia - Hawkes Bay Wines.
A wide range of sponsors from around New Zealand have donated some fabulous items for both the silent auction and the 12 main-auction packages to be held on the evening.
Along with locals, Sparkle guests also come from outside of Hawke’s Bay adding another fantastic tourism driver for the region, she said.
