We aim to foster adult choice, responsibility and independence that enhances esteem/mana and supports an extraordinary life.
We provide a quality flatting situation in a cluster of houses on one site catering for 22 residents across three houses and two cottages.
Situated in Taradale, Napier, Rowan is ideally placed for easy access to shops, community services, transport and E.I.T.
The skilled team of staff are rostered and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing support in completing the tasks of every-day life.
Our staff are supported by a registered nurse, an enrolled nurse and a vocational support worker alongside visiting specialists and allied health professionals (occupational therapists, physiotherapists, podiatrists and speech language therapists).
Rowan has a Strategic Development Group that includes residents, family/ whanau and senior managers who plan the services together.
All staff at Rowan assist the residents in running the houses and working to build on their strengths to do as much for themselves as their disability will allow.
Rowan residents develop an individual plan for community participation and set their own aspirational and short-term goals.
From time to time we are also able to offer respite as a bed becomes available; All services from Rowan are accessed through the Needs Assessment Service Coordination (NASC) Service operating from the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board.
Rowan is a lively, friendly place to live and family/whānau are very much part of the home.
Our approach is one of partnership. Our staff are guests in the residents’ home, here only to support their extraordinary lives.
